Killeen, TX is a city located in Bell County with a population of around 143,613. It is the principal city of the Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood Metropolitan Statistical Area and it is known as one of the fastest growing cities in Texas. The politics in the area are largely dominated by two major parties: Republican and Democratic. The City of Killeen has a strong Republican presence and this is reflected in their local political candidates. Republicans have held sway over many elections in the area, including mayoral races.
