Westerly is a cute, quaint little old New England town. I am from the midwest originally and really like living here. It's also beautiful being so close to the ocean.
People are VERY friendly and pleasant. This is a very Catholic and Italian town, though, and it can be a bit hard to fit in if you're not either (or both) of those things. Also, (I'm guessing because of the religion thing) it's quite socially conservative which is the only thing that I can't handle. That, and the high cost of living, but you'll find that anywhere in New England.
A few great restaurants, adorable shops and a couple good grocery stores (McQuades and Sandy's Market). Oh, and summer is a mess with vacationing folks who can't drive and kids getting drunk and driving around on their way to and from the beaches.
