For most of my life I have lived in Large cities (NYC, Phoenix, etc,) so living in a small town is different. It's a quiet town and the people are friendly although most have a farming background or are currently involved in farming on a lesser scale while having a full time job. To that extent, I have little in common with them. There is a single major employer in town and, in many instances, entire families work, or have worked there. There is a small library and there are a number of community or corporate sponsored events that are attended by people within a 25 mile radius. About 25 miles away is Columbia. Since it is a college town with about 10-15 times the population of Centralia, there is a lot going on there. Restaurants, theater, libraries, so, I do spend my weekends there.
