changing lifestyle - 7/29/2006
I lived for sixteen years in downtown seattle in one of the most popular areas in the city. Living where I now live is so much better. First of all it is more convenient for daily life. There are markets, stores and places that are conducive to an easier life and everything is less expensive. The people of the area in general are of a lower economic level than in other areas but they are diverse, friendly and represent the greater world. Access to all of the major freeways and thoroughfares is as good as you will find in the metro area and it is easy to get from one place to another. Downtown is only 10 or 12 minutes away if a more urban atmosphere is needed and yet here it seems almost rural at times ....like a small town. Even though the property valuse are lower than what I had before, they are appreciating steadily and the houses though modest are very livable with some that have tremendous views.
