Vail Environment

Vail is very different that other areas of the U.S. I have lived in Seattle, Los Angeles, Orange County, Austin TX, Monterey CA... and it is another world here. World Class ski resort is the main focus of the town. Vail is very much a TOWN. The Vail Village is the center of the area, very European in design, high prices, cobblestone, etc. This is an international destination. Outside of the village is a lot of nothing. Think: Amusement park for wealthy adults. Home prices have soared and there is a wide gap between upper and lower class abilities to thrive in this area. Best part, it is a and can be a beautiful area. Lots of bears. Was woken up by one last night at 3am, knocking my trash can over... put my flashlight on him from my balcony and he ran away.
