RSM - Beautiful, quiet town.

This page provides little information on RSM. I see they keep describing the area as "outside of Los Angeles." Culturally, it is so far from Los Angeles (I lived in LA, too), and it is about a two-hour drive to LA.
I lived in RSM for 21 years. I lived in three different areas of the city during those 21 years. I raised my son in RSM, although he only attended local public schools for 2 of his school years. RSM was a great place to raise a child. The city has many families and fun parks and activities for kids. My favorite things about RSM are minimal traffic; it is stunning, up against Saddleback Mountain; it is kept clean; many hiking trails with trailheads within the city; and the best - low crime.
The low crime rate is because it is an out of the way city, people don't drive through RSM, you live there, a nearby town, or you have friends/family there. That brings me to my not-so-favorite things. It is out of the way of just about everything. There is a loud contingent of MAGA people - which is a big negative for me. Many good people in RSM are honest and trustworthy. I would not describe it as super friendly. I would say culturally, like much of Orange County, it is materialistic with a strong focus on appearance. It is not the best city for singles or night life.
If you want a quiet, safe, affordable (by OC standards), beautiful city, RSM is a good place for you.
